Family & Divorce Law
Family law includes the allocation of parental responsibilities including custody and visitation of children who were born to unmarried parents.
When selecting an attorney to represent you in your family or divorce case, you need to consider whether you want an attorney that tends to either enhance or diminish conflict. I believe the only person that benefits from an attorney that enhances conflict is the attorney himself. Enhancing the conflict damages each of the parties as well as the children, and it has long term negative effects that sometimes last a lifetime.
I am a conflict diminisher and will do everything I can to help you reach a settlement that is in the best interest of you and your family, while also focusing on your best financial interest.
I believe the damage caused by failing to reach a settlement and having to testify against each other in court is very damaging and can prevent the parties from having a cordial relationship which in turn damages the children for years to come.
Unfortunately, it is not always possible to avoid a trial if the other side is not acting fairly. If the other side is not being fair, I will tell you that the Judge is more likely to treat you fairly and that a trial is necessary.
